About Jesse Firestone:
Jesse Firestone is an independent curator and our 2017 Curator in Residence. Firestone is interested in using art as a nexus to open a wide range of topics and create public space outside the market through discourse and interaction. He looks to organize exhibitions that feature traditional, nontraditional, local, and international artists whose work generally has relevance outside the gallery. By using the gallery as a zone for production, experimentation, and staging information, Firestone’s exhibitions lend themselves more towards critical reflection, meditative respite, action, catharsis, or celebration as opposed to blind worship and alienation.
