Description:

This 5-week class will delve into many different ways of using acrylic paint, from thin washes and transparent glazes to thick impasto incorporating a variety of added textures. Beginners are welcome! Returning students are also welcome to create individual projects with the instructor as they continue to develop their work during the class. We will explore basic color theory through observational still life exercises and abstract mark-making, starting small and working up to a larger painting format. Students will leave this class with a ready-to-hang painting to decorate your home.

Materials to Bring:

A $30 materials fee covers the cost of paint and brushes, which will be

provided. This payment can be brought directly to the instructor on the first day of the class. Please also bring the following: 9" x 12'' pad of watercolor paper, 3 canvas boards and 3 stretched canvases ranging from 9" x 12” to 30” x 40”, a paper palette, and a large sturdy yogurt container or glass jar for water.
