Tues. 5 Session Intro to Daytime Drawing: Trestle Workshops

Tues. 5 Session Intro to Daytime Drawing: Trestle Workshops

Upcoming Daytime Sessions with Katherine Keltner
Tuesdays 10am - 1pm

  • Sept 12, 19, 26, Oct 3, 10
  • Oct 17, 24, 31, Nov 7, 14

This class is designed for students who want to learn drawing tools and techniques and for those with some experience but in need of more practice and individual feedback.

Drawing is a way of seeing and communicating what you see. It captivates people because it has such variety of viewpoint and touch. No one sees any object in exactly the same way, and there is no one right way to draw. In this class, you will learn tools to help you communicate what you see. We will address line, shape, shading, tone, perspective – the fundamental tools to let you express what you see. If you have some drawing experience and want to refresh or focus on a particular area, I am happy to work individually as well. Each week we will begin class by looking at some precedent images of how artists through time have dealt with similar images, before beginning a new exercise(s). We will explore still life, portraiture, landscape, and more.
