Contemporary Outdoor Botanical Drawing with Jessica Dalrymple
Wednesday, May 30th, 6:30 - 9:30 PM

This workshop will begin by exploring urban nature in nearby green spaces such as Greenwood Cemetery, Bush Terminal Pier Park, and sidewalk street tree pits where participants will observe collect, sketch, and journal nature in the city. Back in the studio classroom, we’ll discuss traditional botanical illustration technique after which participants can practice such a technique and/or use their specimen and field sketches to create a contemporary botanical inspired drawing. We will also touch on plants as subjects throughout art history and in the post-modern era.
