About Trestle Projects

Trestle Projects is one of our gallery space located at 400 3rd Ave.

As part of our programs, the current Curator-In-Residence is granted the exhibition space and is entitled to create shows at Trestle Projects.

Curator-In-Residence

Katherine Murdock is a freelance curator and artist.  For seven years, she was the Assistant Curator at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey which is one of the largest public institutions in New Jersey devoted exclusively to contemporary art.  She has managed over thirty curated group and solo exhibitions and organized over 60 community art exhibitions for the Art Center.  Murdock curated AdhereX-scapesElena Caravela: Girls in Sight, and in 2014 she began a curation series called Stair-Gazing which featured artists including Valerie Molnar, Claire Sherman, Louisa Armbrust, Philemona Williamson, Betty McGeehan, Rhia Hurt and Naomi Reis.  Murdock has also co-curated the exhibition Women Choose Women Again and collaborated with New Jersey curators for the exhibition Jersey Bounce.  As a freelancer she curated Black, White and Green for Gallery at 14 Maple headquarters of Morris Arts and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Morristown, NJ; Mystic Geometry — Circling the Square at Trestle Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; and the Curator’s Choice exhibition at Village West Gallery in Jersey City for Pro Arts Jersey City, Jersey City, NJ.  Murdock received her BA from Drew University, Madison, NJ.
