Open Calls at Trestle Gallery

Trestle Gallery hosts two annual open calls open to national and international artists. Be sure to read the open call descriptions thoroughly before applying. Please note: as a non-profit we are not able to cover the cost of shipping to and from the gallery. *Disclaimer* applying to an open call or residency at Trestle Gallery does not guarantee participation, however it does guarantee your artwork will be seen by our rotating guest curators.

 Introductions is an annual open call hosted by  Trestle Gallery .  In support of our 2019 exhibition theme & focus, all applicants to 2019's open call will be considered for a solo exhibition at  Trestle Gallery , curated by  Jason Andrew .   The only qualification is that you have not participated in a curated show at Trestle Gallery before (previous open calls such as Introductions & Small Works count, TAS Member Salons & Resident Exhibitions do not count).  [image: Ruth Freeman]   Jason Andrew is an independent scholar, curator, and producer. He is the Founding Partner at  Artist Estate Studio, LLC , which manages the estates of  Jack Tworkov ,  Janice Biala , and  Elizabeth Murray  as well as the studio of  Robert Zakanitch  to name a few. A prominent figure in the Brookyn art scene, Mr. Andrew is the co-founder and director of  Norte Maar   a non-profit now celebrating its 15th anniversary encouraging, promoting, and presenting collaborative projects in the arts.

Residents are additionally afforded networking opportunities with established artists, critics, curators and other art world professionals.  There is an end of residency exhibition curated by rotating prominent guest curators - 2018's guest curator is  Carmen Hermo , of the Brooklyn Museum.

 The  Visiting Artist Residency  at Trestle Gallery allows artists to explore their practice and share their artistic experience with the Trestle Gallery and Art Space community.  Each cycle, one artist receives a free private studio membership for six months at  Trestle Art Space . The Visiting Resident Artist leads monthly public  critiques  for the duration of the residency.  This residency is ideal for established artists with a serious practice looking for a space to make work while engaging with the Trestle Gallery & Art Space community.
