Artist's Application Process
- July 31, 6:30 - 9:30 pm
- September 15, 6:30 - 9:30 pm
- November 10, 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Whether it is for a graduate program, an artist residency or a group exhibition, artists at all levels come across applications for opportunities that can forward and enhance their careers.
This one-time workshop allows students to bring their own applications and questions for review with a professional artist. In this workshop we will go over basic aspects of the application process as a group and then develop individual needs one on one. We will discuss resume and CV development, artist’s statements and proposal statements, as well as work samples. Students should come prepared with application requirements outlined, dates and deadlines as well as any specific questions on how to prepare a strong submission. As always, there is never a guarantee that your submission will be accepted, however, a fresh pair of eyes and honest critique of your application will make it
the strongest it can be.
Materials to bring:
• All application information including any specific requirements and
• A portfolio of current work samples (in progress or finished), or specific
requirements and questions about work that needs to be produced. At
least an example of your strongest work to date will be helpful in
discussing your individual needs.
• A notebook and pen for note taking and short writing assignments.
Additional one-on-one follow up sessions to review the progress of your
application may be scheduled directly with the instructor after the workshop.
