Jesse Firestone is an independent curator who uses art as a nexus to open up a wide range of topics. As Trestle Gallery’s CIR, Firestone looks forward to conducting studio visits and developing a year’s worth of programming focused on concept driven exhibitions, the phenomenology of art, and collaborative workshops.
Firestone recently attended Mary Sky’s Artist Residency in Hancock, Vermont where he organized an outdoor sculpture show about the body. He is currently the project manager for SATELLITE, an artist-run and concept driven art fair coinciding with Art Basel Miami Beach.
Firestone's curatorial projects have been exhibited at Young at Art Museum (Davie, FL), Mary Sky (Hancock, VT), Box Contemporary (Fort Lauderdale, FL), FATVillage Projects (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Bakehouse Art Complex (Miami, FL), SATELLITE (Miami, FL), Fort Gondo Compound for The Arts (St Louis, MO), Beverly (St Louis, MO), and The Pulitzer Foundation for The Arts (St Louis, MO). His exhibitions have received accolades from The Sun Sentinel, WideWalls, Konbini, Performance is Alive, and Hyperallergic.
Jesse Firestone began his CIR by curating the Trestle Residency exhibition using both Trestle Gallery and Trestle Projects.
